Only citizens (or foreign nationals with residence permit) of India, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Maldives, Nepal and Sri Lanka intending to travel to the Czech Republic, can apply for visa at the Embassy of the Czech Republic in New Delhi.
The standard processing time is up to 15 calendar days. In particular cases only, the processing time may be prolonged up to 45 calendar days. The processing time starts when the visa application reaches the Embassy. It is recommended to submit an application at least 45 days prior the travel.
Holders of Diplomatic Passport issued by India are exempted from Schengen Visa up to 90 days in order to enter the Czech Republic according to bilateral agreement.
The place where to apply for a short-term (Schengen) visa up to 90 days depends on the country of residence of the applicant:
Applicants legally residing in India, Nepal, Maldives and Bhutan shall apply at any VFS Global visa application center (Click here for a list of the VFS Global Centers and for booking an appointment). In particular cases (e.g. service passport holders, family members of EU citizens), the application can be lodged directly at the Consular Section of the Embassy of the Czech Republic in New Delhi based on the previous appointment only.
Applicants legally residing in Sri Lanka shall apply at the French Embassy in Colombo respectively based on the previous appointment only.
Applicants legally residing in Bangladesh apply for short term visa at the visa application centre in New Delhi. The legal residents of Bangladesh can also contact the French embassy in Dhaka for submitting their short-term Schengen (Czech) visa application.
